چکیده

مقدمه: عوامل مختلف محیطی و ژنتیکی مانند التهاب ناشی از فعالیت ورزشی شدید بر پاسخ سیستم ایمنی ورزشکاران تأثیر می‌گذارد. یکی از راه‌های جلوگیری از فرایند التهاب و کمک به سیستم ایمنی، احتمالاً مصرف داروهای ضدالتهابی مانند دارچین است. هدف از این تحقیق بررسی تأثیر مصرف یک‌هفته‌ای مکمل دارچین بر پاسخ‌های ایمنی پسران فعال در پی یک جلسه فعالیت ورزشی وامانده‌ساز بود.
روش پژوهش: تحقیق حاضر از نوع نیمه‌تجربی به روش یک‌سوکور بود. جامعۀ آماری تحقیق، پسران ورزشکار دانشگاه شیراز بودند. 12 آزمودنی سالم (سن   1.93±22 سال، قد 6.56 ± 172.56 سانتی‌متر، وزن 11.54  ±66.56 کیلوگرم) داوطلبانه و به روش متقاطع در این تحقیق شرکت کردند که دو نفر به‌علت آسیب‌دیدگی از ادامة تحقیق انصراف دادند. شرکت‌کنندگان آزمون وامانده‌ساز بروس در دو وضعیت مصرف مکمل و دارونما را اجرا کردند. 500 میلی‌گرم مکمل دارچین یا مشابه آن دارونما در روز به مدت یک هفته پیش از جلسات آزمون توسط شرکت‌کنندگان مصرف شد. نمونه‌های خونی پیش و 15 دقیقه پس از تمرین ورزشی گرفته شد. تجزیه‌وتحلیل داده‌ها با استفاده از آزمون t همبسته و سطح معناداری p<0.05 در نظر گرفته شد.
یافته‌ها: مصرف مکمل دارچین تأثیر معناداری بر تعداد مونوسیت‌ها پیش و پس از فعالیت ورزشی وامانده‌ساز نداشت (P=0.154)، اما مکمل دارچین تغییرات پاسخ سیستم ایمنی ناشی از فعالیت ورزشی وامانده‌ساز شامل کاهش نوتروفیل‌ها، (کاهش) نسبت نوتروفیل‌ها به لنفوسیت‌ها ( افزایش) لنفوسیت‌ها را کمتر کرد (مقادیر P به‌ترتیب 0.015، 0.012 و 0.02) .
نتیجه‌گیری: مصرف 500 میلی‌گرم مکمل دارچین در روز به مدت یک هفته موجب کاهش تغییرات پاسخ ایمنی بدن متعاقب فعالیت ورزشی شدید و در نتیجه بهبود عملکرد و تقویت سیستم ایمنی ورزشکاران می‌شود.

Effect of Cinnamon on Immune Responses to an Exhaustive Exercise Session in Active Boys

Introduction: Various environmental and genetic factors, such as inflammation caused by intense sports activity affect the immune system response of athletes. One way to prevent the inflammatory process and help the immune system is probably to take anti-inflammatory drugs such as cinnamon. This study aimed to investigate the effect of one-week cinnamon supplement consumption on the immune responses to one session of exhaustive exercise in active boys.
Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted in a single-blind method. The statistical population of the research was male collegiate athletes of Shiraz University. Twelve healthy subjects (age: 22 ± 1.93 years, height: 172.56 ± 6.56 cm, weight: 66.56 ± 11.54kg) participated in the study voluntarily and in a crossover method. Two participants refused to continue the research due to the injury. Participants performed Bruce's exhaustive exercise test in two situations of supplement consumption and placebo. Participants consumed 500 mg of cinnamon supplement or a similar placebo per day before exercise sessions for one week. Blood samples were taken before and 15 minutes following the exercise. A dependent t-test was used for data analysis and a significant level was set at p<0.05.
Results: Cinnamon supplementation did not have a significant effect on the number of monocytes before and after exhaustive exercise (P=0.154), but cinnamon supplementation reduced significantly exercise-induced changes in neutrophils (decrease), lymphocyte (increase), and neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (decrease). P values were 0.015, 0.012, and 0.02, respectively.Conclusion: Daily consumption of 500 mg of cinnamon supplement for one week reduces the body's immune response following exhaustive physical activities, and thus, improves performance and strengthens the athletes' immune system.
