		<Abstract>The aim of the present research was to study the effect of resistance training on metabolic profile and insulin sensitivity in obese men. For this purpose, 16 obese males (age 35-48) were voluntarily selected and randomly assigned to two groups: resistance training and control group. Subjects&#039; blood samples were gathered in fasting state. The experimental subjects received resistance training for 13 weeks, 3 sessions per week. The resistance training was performed in a circuit fashion in 11 stations with a 50-60% intensity of one maximum repetition (1-RM). Data were analyzed using t-student and showed that resistance training had no effect on variables of body weight, WHR, systolic and diastolic pressure, fasting blood glucose and triglyceride. But this training significantly decreased variables of body fat percentage, total cholesterol, LDL-C, glycolide hemoglobin and insulin. Resistance training significantly increased VO2max, HDL-C, and insulin sensitivity indexes. We concluded that resistance training improved metabolic profile and insulin sensitivity in obese men; and could be considered as an effective component to train these men.</Abstract>
