For this purpose, 20 healthy male volunteer students of Mohaghegh Ardabili University (age: 21.37±1.7 years) were randomly divided into experimental (n=10) and control (n=10) groups. The experimental group daily consumed 50 microliter of peppermint oil in 500 ml of mineral water for 10 days and the control group received similar amount of mineral water (placebo). 7 days after consumption, the exercise protocol was conducted with leg press and a weight equal to 80% of maximal isotonic force in 4 sessions till exhaustion. Before 1, 24, 48 and 72 hours after exercise protocol, the variables were measured. For intra-group comparison, ANOVA test with repeated measures was used and for comparison of inter-group differences, independent t test was applied with significance level (P˂0.05). Cohen's d test was used to estimate the size of effect. Results showed that 10 days of peppermint consumption did not prevent DOMS symptoms. But a significant decrease in the concentration of CPK and LDH, (P=0.001) enzymes, cortisol hormone (P=0.01) and pain and inflammation (P=0.001) of peppermint group compared with the control group. Maximal isotonic force in the excremental group significantly decreased compared with the control group (P=0.001). The knee joint range of motion in the experimental group showed less inflammation than the control group (P=0.05). Overall, the results showed that 10 days of peppermint oil consumption cannot prevent chemical, functional and physical symptoms of DOMS. But it can have beneficial effects in a period of recovery.}, keywords = {CPK,delayed onset muscle soreness,inactive men,LDH,peppermint oil}, title_fa = {تأثیر مصرف خوراکی اسانس نعناع در بهبود علائم کوفتگی عضلانی تأخیری پس از انجام پروتکل تمرینی}, abstract_fa = {  هدف مطالعۀ حاضر، بررسی تأثیرات مصرف خوراکی اسانس نعناع در بهبود علائم DOMS بود. بدین منظور 20 داوطلب دانشجوی مرد سالم دانشگاه محقق اردبیلی (سن 7/1±37/21 سال) به‌طور تصادفی به دو گروه تجربی (10 نفر) و کنترل (10 نفر) تقسیم شدند. گروه تجربی روزانه 50 میکرولیتر اسانس نعناع در 500 میلی‌لیتر آب‌معدنی به مدت 10 روز و گروه کنترل، به همان میزان آب‌معدنی (دارونما) مصرف کردند. 7 روز پس از مصرف، پروتکل تمرینی با دستگاه پرس پا و وزنه معادل 80 درصد حداکثر نیروی ایزوتونیک در چهار نوبت و هر نوبت تا واماندگی اجرا شد. در فاصلۀ زمانی قبل، 1، 24، 48 و 72 ساعت پس از انجام پروتکل تمرینی، متغیرهای مورد نظر اندازه‎گیری شدند. از آزمون‌ آنالیز واریانس با اندازهگیری‌های مکرر برای مقایسۀ تفاوت درون‌گروهی و از آزمون تی مستقل برای مقایسۀ تفاوت بین‌گروهی در سطح معناداری 05/0>P و از آزمون Cohen’s d برای برآورد اندازۀ اثر استفاده شد. یافته‌ها نشان داد که مصرف 10 روز اسانس نعناع مانع بروز علائم DOMS نشد. اما کاهش معناداری در غلظت آنزیم CPK، LDH، (001/0P=) هورمون کورتیزول (01/0P=) و میزان درد و التهاب (001/0P=) در گروه نعناع نسبت به گروه کنترل مشاهده شد. حداکثر نیروی ایزوتونیک در گروه تجربی در مقایسه با گروه کنترل کاهش معنا‎داری را نشان داد (001/0P=). دامنۀ حرکتی مفصل زانوی گروه تجربی در مقایسه با گروه کنترل التهاب کمتری را نشان داد (05/0P=). به‌طور کلی نتایج نشان داد که مصرف 10 روزۀ اسانس نعناع نمی‌تواند از بروز علائم شیمیایی، عملکردی و ظاهری کوفتگی عضلانی تأخیری جلوگیری کند. اما در دورۀ بازگشت به حالت اولیه می‌تواند تأثیرات مفیدی داشته باشد.}, keywords_fa = {اسانس نعناع,کوفتگی عضلانی تأخیری,کراتین‌ فسفوکیناز,لاکتات دهیدروژناز,مردان غیرفعال}, url = {https://jsb.ut.ac.ir/article_60982.html}, eprint = {https://jsb.ut.ac.ir/article_60982_73d1616774766dd8056a05edcac662cf.pdf} }
